About

A serial entrepreneur and software developer, building from the north of Norway.

Christer Hagen

I’m from Bodø, in the north of Norway. I grew up in Fauske, swam competitively, and studied entrepreneurship at Nord University before starting my first company.

That company, Refenze, sold fitness apparel across Europe and the US. It taught me how unforgiving real businesses are, and I have been building them ever since.

Through Codebase I build and back software companies. I sold Docdir to Visma in 2026 and have since wound down Sailsdock, an earlier CRM. Today I’m building Bedrifty, an AI-native CRM with built-in Norwegian company data, while partnering at Advanti Estate and investing pre-seed through Not Another VC.

I build in the open on GitHub, placed in the top 4% of the Norwegian AI Championship, and I still believe the best companies can be built far from the capital.

Common questions

Who is Christer Hagen?

I am a Norwegian serial entrepreneur and software developer based in Bodø. I founded Codebase, run pre-seed investing through Not Another VC, and have built and backed companies across software, proptech, and real estate.

What did he sell to Visma?

I sold Docdir, a tool that automated and quality-checked the sales documents behind Norwegian property transactions. It was acquired by Broker AS, part of the Visma group, in 2026, the second Bodø company Visma has bought.

What has he founded?

I founded Codebase, my technology studio, along with Sailsdock, a CRM for Norwegian sales teams, and Docdir, later acquired by Visma. My first company was Refenze, a fitness apparel brand I built in my twenties.

Where is he based?

I live and work in Bodø, about 1,200 kilometres north of Oslo. I build companies from the north of Norway and believe you do not have to move to the capital to do serious work.

What does he invest in?

I make pre-seed angel investments through Not Another VC, mostly in Norwegian founders building software, SaaS, and proptech. I look for people solving boring, expensive problems for a clear group of customers in their own language.
